Folding model Rocket Launch Pads
All launch pads include blast deflector. Launch rods are NOT included.
FLP-18 Model. Our Smallest Model. (1/8" rods only.)
The FLP-18 is our smallest folding launch pad and is the perfect choice for your small mini engine rockets. With its all steel and aluminum construction, it is very durable and will easily last for many years. It folds into a very compact size for ease of portability. It is sized to handle small 1/4A through C engine rockets with a 16" X 18" footprint, but this welding shop creation is much more substantial than a flimsy, plastic, toy-like, starter set launch pad. It accepts 1/8" launch rods only as this is a small launch pad designed for small rockets. (You provide launch rod.)The launch rod is held securely in place in the machined aluminum rod holder with a thumb screw for fast setup. The aluminum rod holder pivots in either direction allowing you to adjust your launch angle depending on wind speed and direction. The main frame is made from 3/4" square steel tubing with angled welded end caps and the swing out stabilizer arm is made from 1/4" thick 6061-T6 aluminum. Also included is a 5 X 5 inch beefy steel blast deflector made from 16 gauge steel with a welded steel standoff and rocket perch. Available in red, blue or custom color of your choice.
FLP-18 Model is $59.99 plus shipping. We only accept credit cards through Paypal. We also accept money orders.
The FLP-18's rod holder accepts 1/8" launch rods only.
The FLP-18 comes with a 5 X 5 blast deflector with clamp on rocket perch.
Folds for ease of portability.
Rocket perch gives the rocket a stable place to sit before lift off.
FLP-24 Model. For use with 1/8" & 3/16" launch rods.
This is our newly redesigned FLP-24 model launch pad which is designed to handle small to medium sized A, B, C, D and E engine rockets. This is a step up over our smaller FLP-18 model. It has a 24" X 21.5" footprint and is much more substantial than a flimsy, plastic, toy-like launch pad. It
accepts 1/8" and 3/16" launch rods (you provide launch rod). The launch rod is held securely in place in the machined aluminum rod holder with two thumb screws for fast setup. The aluminum rod holder pivots in either direction allowing you to adjust your launch angle depending on wind direction. The rod holder's launch angle is locked firmly in place with a 1/4-20 steel star knob. The launch pad easily folds into a compact size for ease of portability and the frame arms are held in place with a 1/4-20 steel star knob as well. The frame is made from 3/4" square steel tubing with angled welded end. The ends have plastic tubing plugs to keep dirt out. Also included is a 6 X 6 inch beefy steel blast deflector made from 16 gauge steel with a welded steel standoff. The standoff has a clamp on rocket "perch" that provides a stable rest for the rocket to sit on before liftoff. Available in red, blue or the custom color of your choice. (You'll have to wait for custom colors to be painted.)

The FLP-24 Model's rod holder holds up to 3/16" launch rods.
One of the most common requests that we always got for custom work on launch pads was for us to take one of our small pads that wasn't really designed, size wise, to hold a 1/4" rod and to put a 1/4" rod holder on it. People would tell us that they put 1/4" launch lugs on their smaller sized rockets and used a 4 or 5 foot length launch rod for it's stiffness. They didn't really need or want a launch pad that was all that big, they just wanted to use 1/4" rods. It made sense so I'd do it, but a small pad with a big rod just looked a little goofy to me. So I came up with this launch pad with those folks in mind. Made from 3/4" 16 gauge square steel tubing, it's sized between our FLP-24 and FLP-36 pads with a 30" X 27.5" footprint but still gives the "small pad feel" these customers are looking for. And being a little bigger and beefier than our smaller FLP-24 model, it's better suited to properly support a 1/4" rod. Comes equipped with a 7.5" X 7.5" 14 gauge blast deflector with welded standoff and rocket perch.(Launch rod not included).
$99.99 plus shipping. Available in red or blue or custom color of your choice. We only accept credit cards through Paypal. We also accept money orders.
Our FLP-30 Model has a 30 X 27.5 inch footprint and is a much better choice than a plastic "E" sized launch pad. Capable of launching anything from an Estes "Mosquito" up to the big "Mean Machine", and everything in between.
Rod holder holds 1/8" through 1/4" rods equally well.
Folding design with 1/4-20 star knob underneath pad.
With small Estes rocket.
Shown here with Loc "Aura".
With Loc "Lil' Nuke".
Our FLP-36 model is made from 3/4" 16 gauge square steel tubing with welded angled ends. Plastic tubing plugs in the angled ends keep dirt out. Its 36" X 33" footprint provides a stable base from which to launch mid sized E, F and G engine rockets. The folding frame arms pivot on a 5/16 pivot bolt and tighten with an aluminum star knob underneath the frame. Folds to a compact size for ease of portability. The new larger 4" steel rod holder accepts 1/4" launch rods (and smaller) and pivots on a 5/16 hex head pivot bolt which is tightened with a wrench so you can lock the launch angle in place securely. It comes with your choice of either a 9" X 9" flat blast deflector made from 14 gauge steel and a welded standoff with a rocket "perch" at the top of the standoff, or a 7" X 9" angled blast deflector also made from 14 gauge steel. The angled blast deflector version comes with a separate aluminum perch that clamps onto 3/16" or 1/4" launch rods. The angled blast deflector version costs a little more as there is more fabrication time in it. This is our most versatile launch pad for small to mid sized rockets as the rod holder holds 1/8", 3/16", and 1/4" rods equally well, so you can launch anything from a small Estes rocket up to something like a Loc IV with this pad. It is also one of our best sellers and thus a challenge to keep in stock. This pad is NOT designed to hold a rail. If you want to use a rail you need to move up to one of our larger models.
FLP-36 Angled Blast Deflector Version is $129.99 plus shipping. Available in red or blue.
FLP-36 Flat Blast Deflector Version is $119.99 plus shipping. Available in red or blue.

FLP-36 rod holder easily holds 1/8" through 1/4" launch rods. *Note* All new FLP-36 models have the new 4" long steel rod holder, but only the angled blast deflector version's rod holder has the angled mounting tab (to bolt the angled blast deflector to). The flat blast deflector's rod holder doesn't have this tab, as it doesn't need it. Note the pivot tab is also offset 45 degrees on the angled version so as to divert the rocket's exhaust down between two of the frame's legs, as opposed to straight down on top of one of the legs. There are design differences here folks. You can put a flat blast deflector on the angled model but not an angled blast deflector on the flat model.
Aluminum star knob under frame locks folding arms in place.
Adjustable height rocket perch on angled model.
We intend for the pivoting rod holder to be tightened in place with a wrench after setting the launch angle.
Also available with a flat blast deflector which measures 9 X 9 and features a rocket perch at the top of the standoff tube. This version is $119.99
FLP-36 Angled Blast Deflector Version with Loc "Graduator". Available in red or blue.
FLP-48 Model - Our Largest Folding Pad
Holds 1/4" - 1/2" rods and 1" 1010 series rails.
Our FLP-48 folding launch pad is similar to our FLP-36 launch pad but has a larger 48" X 45" footprint and is made from larger 1"square steel tubing with a slightly thicker 14 gauge wall thickness. The folding frame pivots on a larger 1/2" pivot bolt and tightens with a big aluminum star knob underneath the frame. The frame ends have plastic tubing plugs to keep dirt out. It comes with a larger 10 X 12 inch angled blast deflector made from thick .109" steel plate. Beefy. This pad is our folding pad to use if you want to use a 1" 1010 series rail. The launch rod or rail is held securely in place in the rod / rail holder with two 3/8 thumb screws, pivots in either direction allowing you to adjust your launch angle depending on wind direction and locks securely in place with a big 5/8" pivot bolt. Rocket perches are also available for the pad. (Perches are sold separately to allow you to choose the perch of your choice)

Folks, we will no longer be selling launch rods, and for two very good reasons:
1. This is the main reason: about half of the material we buy here lately is bent. Anywhere from slightly bent to horribly bent, especially the 1/8" and 3/16" rods. We buy the material from a local steel distributor/warehouse and as they tell us, there isn't much they can do about it as it is bent when they receive it from the mill. It comes in 12 foot lengths, and if you stop to really think about it, a 1/4", 3/16" or 1/8" diameter rod that is 12 feet long is nothing more than a bent rod waiting to happen. A lot of the material is only *marginally bent* making the rods, after they have been cut to length, *marginally acceptable*. But, do you want a marginally acceptable launch rod? I didn't think so...
2. There never was much money to be made in simply cutting material to length and shipping it in a PVC tube in the first place. Our money is made by fabricating steel. We started selling the rods because our launch pad customers were constantly asking us if we carried them. We were almost expected to sell them, and we wanted to offer them as a convenience. But by the time we'd go get the material, weed out the bent stuff, cut the rods to length, debur the cuts, clean all the grease and oil off of them and then went and got the shipping tubes, caps and cap cement and cut the shipping tubes to length and glued a cap on one end, packed the rod order and taped the other cap on with enough packing tape to choke a horse (when we only used enough tape to choke a pony, the post office would pop the taped cap off somehow) well... I think you get my point. For a product that seems so simple to sell, they were a TON of trouble for just a few bucks. And we've never sold launch rails as we don't have a wholesale source for them. Looking for a stainless launch rod? Try here: http://www.onlinemetals.com/merchant.cfm?id=7&step=2&top_cat=1.
I think you'll find the prices to be FANTASTIC, but the shipping? Slightly less than fantastic, so get all three rod sizes while you're at it. As for a launch rail you can get those at amazon.com.
