You can build an EXPOSURE UNIT like this one to expose the emulsion on your screens. Purchase detailed plans for $6.99. Includes tips for exposing screens successfully.

Once coated with emulsion, screens have to be kept in complete darkness while they dry and stored in darkness until they're ready to be exposed. The best way to do this is with a SCREEN DRYING CABINET. It's easy to build your own with our detailed customizable plans. $6.99.
Note: The screen cabinet is NOT heated. It is simply a light tight box to store your screens as they dry.

New basic press plans! $6.99

New revised press plans will be even easier to build and will offer a couple of different options for the clamps. Coming soon.
If you're on a budget and have some basic carpentry skills, you should be able to build your own exposure unit, screen drying cabinet, and basic press without too much trouble. These should be more than adequate for hobby printing or a small start-up shop, and should still be useful even after your business has grown. Built using basic butt joint construction with wood screws and wood glue, they are fairly simple to construct. All three can be built using a small circular saw and a drill, and you can easily modify the plans to make any one of them larger if you so desire. Plans are $6.99 each. Buy any two sets together for $11.99, or buy all three sets together for $14.99. Plans include detailed drawings as well as photos with captions and construction tips. After payment is received, we will email the plans to you in a zipped file.
Note: For you international customers, these plans are drawn using the English fractional system of measurement - NOT the metric system that you are most likely accustomed to. So keep this in mind before purchasing.
