The Basic Rack & Pick Press.

RP-2024 Model.

Sturdy steel frame is very beefy.

The RP-2024 model press has a 16 X 18 inch platen. It's designed for use with 20 X 24 wood screens and our bottom mount micros. It can be purchased individually for $99.00 or as part of a one, two, or three color kit.

Our new frames are equipped with 1/4" aluminum platen mounting plates with countersunk flat head mounting bolts. The rear of the frame is drilled to accept our new aluminum single screen tail rack.(coming soon)

The Standard Rack & Pick press frame is available in black, yellow, red or blue. This frame can be purchased as the RP-2024 with a 16 X 18 platen or as the RP-1820 with a 15 X 17 platen. $99.00 plus S&H.

RP-DLX Model. Our Deluxe Rack & Pick Press.

The frame design of the RP-DLX model allows for the use of our optional youth/sleeve combo platens which will accomodate printing long or short sleeves as well as smaller youth sized t-shirts.

How a rack and pick type press works.

These photos are shown using the RP-1820 model with 18 X 20 screens and side mounted micros. The RP-2024 model works the same way only with the bottom mounted micros in the same five positions on the underside of 20 X 24 screens.

Micros attach to screen using wood screws and allow the screen to be placed directly onto the platen in precise registration.

The micro heads contact the platen's edges on all four sides of the platen.

The front micro tightened 1/4 turn pulls the screen tightly in place on the platen. Note the 1/8" thick washer taped to bottom corner of the screen. These four washers provide off contact.

This system is about as simple as it gets, but very accurate.

A rack and pick press works just a little differently from a rotary press, but is much simpler in design with no moving parts to wear out over time. Instead of the screens being held by in screen clamps on a rotary carousel at the rear of the press, they are simply held by the screen rack and then placed directly onto the platen when the print is made. The five screen mounted micros register the screen precisely so that it will go onto the platen in the exact same position every time. A nickel or 1/8" thick washer is taped to the bottom four corners of each screen to provide off contact. This is a very simple and accurate way to print in a small work space.

Our Standard Rack & Pick Press can be purchased as the RP-2024 model with a 16 X 18 inch platen which is designed for use with 20 X 24 wood screens or as the RP-1820 model with a 15 X 17 platen for use with smaller 18 X 20 screens. It's your choice depending on which screen size you prefer to use. The model numbers correlate to the screen size used. 18 X 20 screens provide a print area of about 12 X 14 and are good if most of your designs fall into that size category. 20 X 24 screens provide a print area of about 14 X 18 which will accomodate most anything you'll want to print.

The presses can be purchased individually for $99.00 or as part of a one, two, or three color kit with a screen rack and micros.

A one color kit is $175.00 plus S&H.

A two color kit is $199.00 plus S&H.

A three color kit is $225.00 plus S&H.

Our new lower cost wood screen racks can be substituted in each kit for a $15.00 savings. (See photo below)
